3 Easy Ways To Clean Your Bathroom Tiles (No Scrubbing!)

Besides being durable and giving your bathroom a fantastic look, tiles are really convenient to clean. Their smooth surface makes tiles easier to scrub and take out the stains. However, scrubbing can wear tiles down in the long run, causing them to lose their shine.

Likewise, a long scrubbing session can also wear your arms down, leaving them sore. The good news is that you can skip the scrubbing and still leave your tiles spotless. Surprising? Keep reading to find out how!

How to clean bathroom tiles without scrubbing

Next, you’ll find three practical methods to clean your bathroom tiles. You can choose an option depending on your cleaning needs. Check them out!

Before you start

Before anything else, run your shower at the hottest temperature for five minutes. It will fill your bathroom with steam, loosening the dirt and grime on your tiles and grout. Close the door or curtain while letting the shower run to trap the most steam possible.

Pro tip: After time’s up, if you have a removable shower head, direct the stream of hot water to highly stained areas to loosen the grime further.

Method #1. Vinegar DIY solution

You can do no wrong with vinegar as it is the go-to product for homemade cleaning alternatives. Just mix one part vinegar and one part lukewarm water in a spray bottle. Next, spray the mix all over your tiles.

Let 30 minutes pass for the vinegar to take effect. As all the soap scum and grime fall off, wipe your tiles with a microfiber cloth dampened with warm water. After you clean the area, rinse and dry the tiles to avoid mold growth.

Method #2. Hydrogen peroxide

Hydrogen peroxide is great for dealing with tough grime and mildew stains on your bathroom tiles.

Mix in a spray bottle two parts of water for every part of hydrogen peroxide to take advantage of its cleaning properties. Once done, spray the tiles and grout generously with it and let it rest for 30 minutes.

After the 30-minute wait, grab a rough cloth and wipe the area, focusing on the dirty areas. Once all the stains are gone, wipe the area with a damp cloth. Before calling it a day, dry any excess moisture to prevent mold from growing back.

Method #3. A Baking Soda Paste

This method will eliminate those stubborn stains not removed by the previous methods. First, mix ½ cup baking soda and a few tablespoons of water to make a paste. You’ll need your paste to have a toothbrush-like consistency, so mess around with the quantities until reaching it.

When your DIY paste is ready, spread it over the grout and the areas you want to clean. Then, after 10 minutes, use a rough-textured cloth to wipe off the grime in circular motions. Once you finish, rinse until no residue remains and avoid mildew by drying thoroughly.
